Biography

Kane is an Energy Consultant for Advisian’s Decarbonisation team, with technical experience completing Life Cycle Assessments (LCA’s) for major suppliers within the oil and gas industry. Kane has bachelor degrees in Chemical Engineering and Business Management, allowing him to support the energy transition by creating a targeted approach to bridge the gaps between industry, government, and modern society. With an operations management background and a passion for sustainability, Kane has been able to draw on various experiences to best deliver decarbonisation solutions for Advisian’s clients.

Biography

Lucy Barrie is a Mining Engineer at Glencore’s Mount Isa Mines, where she has completed her underground crew time, spent time as an Operations Engineer and has been in the Short-Term Scheduling team for the last 18 months. She holds an Honours degree in Mining Engineering from UNSW Sydney, where she first signed up with AusIMM and attended her first New Leaders in 2017. In her current role, Lucy is responsible for the three month rolling schedule for the copper sub-level open stoping operation (SLOS), but has also been engaged with projects for production, development and data reporting. Lucy is also the Vice-Chair of the AusIMM North West Queensland Branch, an AusIMM New Professionals Network Ambassador and in her spare time plays netball and likes to explore outback Queensland.

Biography

Mining Engineer Steve Coughlan is a founding shareholder and Executive Chairman of the Byrnecut Group comprising a private suite of companies headquartered in Perth, Western Australia. These include Byrnecut Australia Pty Ltd, an underground mining contractor, and its associated entities and divisions – Byrnecut International, Jetcrete Oz, Murray Engineering, Raising Australia, Mining Plus, BOAB (Building Opportunities for Aboriginal Business), Quattro Project Engineering, Sano Health and Fuze composites. Byrnecut was established in Kalgoorlie in 1987. The consolidated group has developed steadily with current annual revenue exceeding AUD 2 billion. The group operates globally with capabilities including mine design and mine feasibility, long term mine development and production, shaft sinking, shotcreting, indigenous training, engineering design, mechanical and electrical engineering services, equipment hire and EPCM mine, civil and structural works and engineered composites for cold work repair.
