Biography

Aline has a bachelor degree in Science (Geology) from University of Quebec (1998), post graduate training in Geology at Laurentian University.(2000) and an MBA from University of Quebec (2008). She began her career as an exploration geologist for Noranda Inc,, progressing to becoming the first female Chief Geologist for Falconbridge, and became Head of Zinc Mining Technical Services for Glencore in 2014. Becoming the Industrial Lead, for Glencore’s Zinc & Lead department in 2019, is a testimony of her skills and resiliency. One of her biggest achievement has been the development, implementation and support of “optimized mining selectivity models”, which has been the seed of the overall value chain optimization of Glencore’s Zinc & Lead Department.

Heath is a mining geoscience professional with over 30 years’ experience in the mining industry, including 10 years working in gold and iron ore mines in Western Australia, multiple commodities, and locations worldwide and more than 10 years in senior management roles. Heath is known globally for work in mine value chain reconciliation and has technical strength in resource estimation and ore control practices. An experienced change agent able to effectively collaborate from operations to the board room; a thought leader aiming to assist the mining industry to be more transparent and sustainable.

Environmental, Social and Governance Considerations in Public Mineral Reporting

Abstract

Biography

Fiona Cessford, MSc, CEnv, FIMMM is a Corporate Consultant at SRK Consulting UK Ltd. After a short stint at the UK's Environment Agency, she has now been providing sustainability consulting services to the mining industry for nearly a quarter of a century based out of SRK's UK and South African offices. Her experience spans impact assessment, permitting and auditing of mines. She provides ESG expertise for capital projects from scoping through to feasibility studies, mineral resource and reserve reporting, and due diligence studies. Her interest is in assisting clients to manage both impacts and risk, to gain and maintain a licence to operate, and to meet the expectations of stakeholders. She has provided ESG input to decisions on many financial transactions, has been the independent ESG consultant on several loan agreements in sub-Saharan Africa and Europe, and has contributed expert opinion to international arbitrations. She communicates ESG risks in a language understood by mine managers, investors, corporate decision makers and other stakeholders.

Rayleen boasts over 25 years of experience as a mining geologist in the resource industry. Over the past 15 years, she has been heavily involved in the onsite implementation and administration of Reconcilor, thereby amassing significant expertise in mine site reconciliation. Leveraging her strong domain knowledge, Rayleen currently serves as the Product Owner of Reconcilor, providing leadership within the Research and Development team to ensure that the software's features and functionality meet the requirements of key stakeholders. Rayleen has established an impressive track record in the field of mine reconciliation. Her contributions include several published white papers on the subject, which have further enhanced her reputation as an industry expert.

Biography

Over eighteen years in mining geology and mineral resource estimation Will has learnt how critical the role geoscientists play in the minerals industry is. A mining projects success or failure can often be determined by the quality of our work. Will is passionate about establishing best practice approaches and exploring new methods or products which improve our ability to make sound investment decisions. In his role of Principal Resource Modelling for WA Iron Ore at BHP, Will feels lucky to get the opportunity to work with our industries next generation of geoscientists and enjoys seeing them developing the skills and methodologies to take them on to a successful career in the minerals industry.
