Stephen is a civil engineer by qualification and throughout his 30-year career has worked in a number of industries around the world. Following 5 years as CEO of Engineers Australia, in 2017 Stephen joined AusIMM, the peak body for people working in resources, representing 13,000 members in Australia and overseas.

Bill Staunton has been involved with gold processing for more than 35 years in academia, industry, and government organisations. From 1997-2012 he was the Leader of the Gold Technology Group, now based at Curtin University, and the Manager of the AMIRA P420 Gold Processing Technology Project, the largest collaborative research project in gold processing. Bill is currently an independent consultant (AdvanceMet Pty Ltd) and is an Associate of Curtin University, where he continues to work with the Gold Technology Group.
