William Oching is a professional Mining Engineer, with strong Mining Industry Experience in Canada, and a faculty member at British Columbian Institute of Technology (BCIT). Prior to joining BCIT, William worked for a number of world-class mining companies including Barrick & Teck Joint Venture, Falconbridge Limited, Vale Sudbury Operations in Ontario, Cameco Corporation and Nyrstar. He held positions with increasing level of responsibilities in project management, mine ventilation, and mine operations. William holds a B.Eng. and MBA from Laurentian University in Sudbury. Currently, William teaches Mine Management & Occupational Health, and Underground Mine Design and Ventilation and Mining Projects.

Bev's career as a mining engineer spans 20 years across multiple commodities and countries. Her roles have traversed from technical specialist to people leader. She has a passion for understanding the psychology that drives organisational behaviour and strives to unlock people's potential by considering the complexity of the individual in relation to the dynamics of the group . Her recent involvement in the deployment of autonomous trucks has convinced her that technical solutions only unlock one element of the challenges facing organisations. Taking a systemic approach to understanding organisational culture and group dynamics ensures that strategies are successfully implemented.

Sally Bowes has over 25 years experience in the mining industry, as an engineer and a learning and development professional. Sally has managed development and delivery of training solutions in Australia, Africa, South America, Canada, Indonesia, Turkey and North America. Sally is a leader in innovation in the workplace learning and development field. She has developed training solutions that utilise online learning and mobile learning to bring the learner closer to the workplace, the worker and the work. Sally believes that the right learning and development opportunities can enable people to reach their full potential, improve lives, families and communities.

Greg Karadjian is the Senior Vice President for Asia Pacific at Immersive Technologies, with 17 years’ experience in the mining industry. Greg has Graduate Diploma in Business Administration from UWA, an Masters in Business Administration from Curtin Graduate Business School, and a Graduate Certificate in Mining Engineering from UNSW.

Hendrik Grobler is the Head of Department of Mining Engineering and Mine Surveying at the University of Johannesburg, South Africa. Hendrik gained 18 years of industry experience as the Responsible Mine Surveyor on gold, platinum, nickel and chrome mining projects in Africa before joining the University of Johannesburg in 2007. Hendrik’s industrial experience and research fields includes the alignment of underground surveying networks using gyroscopic methods, laser scanning (LIDAR), monitoring of geological hazards including subsidence monitoring, mine planning, ore reserve valuation, ore reconciliation and forensic surveys.

Jan Johansson is since 1994 Professor in Industrial Work Environment at Luleå University of Technology. Johansson’s main research interest is new technologies, work organisation and attractive workplaces mainly in the mining sector. Johansson is responsible for the work package The Digital Miner in the big EU project Next Generation Carbon Neutral Pilots for Smart Intelligent Mining Systems (Nexgen Sims).
