Biography

Mr. Chalmers is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Energy Fuels, a position he has held since February 1, 2018. From July 1, 2017 to January 31, 2018, Mr. Chalmers was President and Chief Operating Officer of Energy Fuels, and from July 1, 2016 to July 1, 2017, he was Chief Operating Officer of the Corporation. From 2011 to 2015, Mr. Chalmers served as Executive General Manager of Production for Paladin Energy Ltd., a uranium producer with assets in Australia and Africa, including the Langer Heinrich and Kayelekera mines where, as head of operations, he oversaw sustained, significant increases in production while reducing operating costs. He also possesses extensive experience in in situ recovery (“ISR”) uranium production, including management of the Beverley Uranium Mine owned by General Atomics (Australia), and the Highland mine owned by Cameco Corporation (USA). Mr. Chalmers has also consulted to several of the largest players in the uranium supply sector, including BHP Billiton, Rio Tinto, and Marubeni, and until recently served as the Chair of the Australian Uranium Council, a position he held for 10 years. Mr. Chalmers is a registered professional engineer, and holds a Bachelor of Science in Mining Engineering from the University of Arizona.

Biography

Dave has around 28 years' experience in the minerals sector, in geotechnical engineering site-based positions with Newcrest Mining and Rio Tinto, and the last 18 years in senior consulting/leadership roles with GHD. In addition to Chairing the Mining Society committee in the past and serving on the Melbourne Branch Committee, Dave led a reinvigoration of the Darwin Branch and Chaired this until the end of 2013. Dave was first elected to the AusIMM Board in October 2015, and in April 2020 was elected AusIMM President for 2021. Dave has brought additional governance to the group in risk management and project management fundamentals. He has served on various Board committees and taskforces including the Audit and Risk Committee, the Nominations Committee and the Professional Accreditation Advisory Taskforce to review and revamp the Chartered Professional Program to be more contemporary, user-friendly and have greater oversight.

Biography

Minister van Holst Pellekaan was elected to Parliament as the Member for Stuart in 2010. He was promoted to the Shadow Cabinet in 2011 and has held the Energy and Mining portfolios since June 2014. After his re-election at the 2018 State Election, he was sworn in as Minister for Energy and Mining in the Marshall Liberal Government. Minister van Holst Pellekaan started his working life as a labourer before playing four seasons in the National Basketball League and at the same time gaining a Bachelor of Economics. He then spent ten years with BP Australia before entering the small business sector as a shareholder and operator of Outback roadhouses for seven years. This was followed by three years developing cycle tourism in the Southern Flinders Ranges immediately before entering Parliament. Minister van Holst Pellekaan’s electorate extends from Kapunda at its southern end, all the way up to the NT border. It heads east to the NSW border. It includes the Mid North agricultural region, all of the Flinders Ranges and the vast north-east pastoral region surrounded by the Northern Territory, Queensland and New South Wales. The regional city of Port Augusta is its main population centre.

Biography

Bryn is the Technical Director for BossEnergy. He is an industrial chemist with more than 20 years of experience in the uranium industry. He has worked in all aspects of the mining cycle, particularly in uranium in-situ recovery and mine development and production. Bryn spent nearly 10 years in roles with ISR uranium producer Heathgate Resources, Australia’s other producing ISR uranium. He is Managing Director of PhosEnergy Ltd and a Non-Executive Director of Australian Rare Earths Limited and DevEx Resources Ltd.

Biography

As the founder, President & Chief Executive Officer of NexGen Energy Ltd., Mr. Curyer holds more than 20 years experience in the resources and corporate sector, with a proven track record in the successful development and permitting of mines in several global jurisdictions. He was previously the Chief Financial Officer and head of corporate development of Southern Cross Resources (now Uranium One), after serving as Head of Corporate Development for Accord Nuclear Resource Management, where he led in the assessment of uranium projects worldwide for First Reserve Corporation, a global energy -- focused private equity and infrastructure investment firm. Mr. Curyer's extensive uranium project assessment experience has been focused on assets located in Canada, Australia, USA, Africa, Central Asia and Europe, incorporating operating mines, advanced development projects and exploration prospects. While Chief Financial Officer of Southern Cross Resources (now Uranium One), Mr. Curyer managed the exploration, permitting and feasibility study of the Honeymoon Uranium Project in South Australia, ensuring full compliance with NI43-101 reporting. Mr. Curyer has raised over $500 million of equity in North America, US, Europe and Australia. Mr. Curyer is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia.

Uranium Recovery as a By-product from Rare Earth Processing

Biography

Mark Maley holds BSc. (Hons) and PhD. degrees in Applied Chemistry from Curtin University, Perth. He has over 15 years experience in the area of hydrometallurgy, previously holding positions with CSIRO Minerals and BHP Billiton Global Technology in copper and nickel hydrometallurgy, specialising in the leaching of base metal ores, particularly bacterial and oxidative leaching of sulphides as well as the processing of nickel laterites. Mark is currently employed at ANSTO Minerals in the position of Senior Hydrometallurgist, a role has held for the past 12 years. His work at ANSTO has primarily involved consulting work for both junior and established mining companies in the area of uranium hydrometallurgy, including leaching studies, Resin-In-Leach / Resin-In-Pulp, ion exchange, solvent extraction, beneficiation, solid/liquid separation and uranium precipitation. He has also worked on projects related to the hydrometallurgical processing of ores containing naturally occurring radioactive material, as well as rare earths.
